For many seasoned nurses, starting out in the profession came with structure and support \u2014 a sense of belonging, and the reassurance that someone had your back. But for many new nurses today, that feeling is gone. Experienced nurses now fear that those entering the system won\u2019t last \u2014 not because they lack passion, but because they lack support.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet\u2019s take our young people, let\u2019s mentor them. Let\u2019s make it a good career \u2014 a very proud career, a serving career \u2014 instead of what\u2019s happening now. Our new nurses are thrown into this. They\u2019re not given any support. And I would highly doubt that a lot of the nurses who are just starting today will still be there in 30 years\u2019 time. We need to support them. We need to build walls \u2014 and let them, in 30 years\u2019 time, say \u2018This was a good role.
