JES: Additional Resources Added to Address Backlog
March 25, 2022We are pleased to report the provincial government has added additional resources to address the backlog in outstanding Job Evaluation System (JES) reviews and claims.
Some RNU members and other public sector workers have waited years for answers on their cases. It’s unreasonable and unacceptable.
RNU has been lobbying the provincial government to address the backlog.
In February 2022, we were advised by the Public Service Commission that two appeals adjudicators and two new support staff have been hired.
In two months, the backlog of cases has been reduced from 1,600 to 1,000.
The Public Service Commission anticipates addressing all outstanding JES cases for public sector workers by October 2022. We will continue to monitor their progress and advocate on behalf of members who are still waiting to hear back.
