Nursing Matters

Nurses in the Spotlight: The ‘I am a Nurse’ Video Series

February 28, 2025

The ‘I am a Nurse’ video series shines a spotlight on the professionalism, expertise, and dedication of nurses across Newfoundland and Labrador. So far, 20 videos have been produced, highlighting nurses from all regions of the province. Some videos were filmed during the President’s Tour, while others were shot during the Council of President in September 2024. All videos were edited in-house by the communications team, even while preparing for our Biennial Convention. The videos feature both Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, capturing their working lives and daily contributions to patient care.

The series aims to break stereotypes by illustrating the complex, multidisciplinary roles nurses play in primary care, long-term care, and acute care settings. By sharing their journeys, challenges, and successes, nurses convey their commitment to improving patient outcomes and advancing healthcare services.

This initiative is part of our ongoing campaign to highlight the critical contributions of nurses to our province’s healthcare system. It invites audiences to see nurses as professional, highly trained healthcare providers, not merely as caregivers.

As we continue this initiative, we invite our members to get involved. If you would like to volunteer to share your story or support our communication efforts in other ways, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us at communications@rnunl.ca.

Together, we can continue to demonstrate the professionalism and expertise that define nursing in Newfoundland and Labrador.
